Laser Hair Transplant
62People going bald have been seen from time immemorial and will continue to be the case as long as the human species is alive on this planet. This is not a new phenomenon that has developed overnight making people loose hair on their scalp. It has been happening for a number of reasons, which cannot really be attributed just aging. Some people have defects in the scalp, which prevents hair from growing. People undergoing chemotherapy also loose hair. However this does not mean every person will go for a laser hair transplant. Some people may prefer to remain without hair on their scalps even though treatments are available.
Who should be looking for a laser hair transplant? There are no set rules about who can approach a hair clinic to get a laser hair transplant. The question arises when people look for such treatments at a young age and wonder whether they will be better off with a laser hair transplant or have to look out for surgical implants. Either way they will be going to clinic and spending a great deal of money, which will at some time or the other whither away.
A laser hair transplant is a good choice for people who are looking to make a career out of modeling or get into the show business. Here too there have been success stories of people without a single hair on their scalps and some even going on to get all hair removed. But for the person looking to get the treatment, one must say this is a better choice than going through a surgical implant.
The question about getting hair transplants was introduced when surgeons discovered they could graft hair from one part of the scalp and implant it into a part that was going bald. However the process was long and pretty messy. The skin had to be cut, removed from the scalp and implanted all over again in another place leaving blood flowing all over. The patient was left with a scar on the skull apart from having to recuperate from the surgery as well. They also had to worry about whether the grafts would grow in a proper manner or not.
As newer technology was introduced a laser hair transplant became popular. People no longer had to spend a long time under the surgeon’s scalpel and were not subjected to the bloody mess as seen earlier. Lasers allowed hair transplant surgeons to take precise grafts from one part of the head and implant into another part with little loss of blood. The patient did not have to spend long hours recuperating and the fears of scars were also eliminated. However they still faced a problem. Surgeons had managed to reduce the mess, which was caused by blood loss but were not able to guarantee the success of each procedure. This was natural as the process still involved hair grafting. The surgeons could graft the hair but could not make it grow. People undergoing a laser hair transplant still had to spend time worrying about hair growth until they could really feel it on their scalps.
It has often been mentioned that the earlier way of surgical implants is a better way than laser hair transplant. However with time at a premium and quick fixes demanded by most people laser hair transplants have gained in popularity and have become the accepted norm among people loosing hair at a fast pace. The cost of a laser hair transplant has not deterred people from opting for such treatments. They cannot be blamed in any way if their careers depended on the treatment. Under any other circumstances, this would perhaps be considered absurd.
